So, we've been in Krakow since monday evening

we bumped into tez and ruth at the Goodbye Lenin hostel, and had a good couple of nights out with those guys + some dudes from the hostel
tuesday being particularly good fun

my dad was over here for some reason for a bit
and we visited auschwitz

we were meant to go to Warsaw today but steve and pete wanted to stay here an extra day, so we are

rumours of some kind of birthday party tonight

Hello hello

so we have been in Berlin since thursday afternoon

seen all the sights, done the tours, revisited some places we went on the Berlin trip of '06 ...

and steve and i have eaten a lot of currywurst
actually we had a fucking DREADFUL currywurst earlier today at the Currywurst Museum

hope you all got your votes on in the election, we were up till 5ish watching it

so yeah we leave for Krakow tomorrow morning - meeting up with tez and ruth again there i do believe

not long left now, yesterday was the 2 month marker and we should be home 1 month today

back on the Currywurst trail

so, we spent most of last week in amsterdam

met leo at the station on wednesday morning after an absolutely wonderful night train, and then tez and ruth dropped by too

got our orange on for queen's day
i managed to see tiesto play for free in a park which was cool

the 3 of us spent the weekend camping in a place a bit outside of the city centre, and unfortunately it absolutely pissed down with rain

anyway, we are now in köln and have been since monday
time to go get a little more currywurst for lunch

Greetings,

it occured to me that its been a fucking long time since we blogged

basically, after vienna we decided to spend a week apart
i hit rome and venice
steve went to interlaken (switzerland) and munich
and pete headed over to the netherlands to 'sample the local produce'

we met up again in Dresden on wednesday afternoon, and had many a german beer and some currywurst to celebrate

got in to Prague on friday and it's been party central
went out with Tez on friday, then pub crawl on saturday, to a reggae club last night and tonight I for one am heading out with some chilean men to a club.

amsterdam coming up.... not sure how much more we can handle.

budapest and beyond

we spent last thursday till yesterday morning in Budapest (the capital of Hungary, for those of you who don't know where stuff is. (Hungary is a country in Europe, for those of you who are stupid. and Dan))

had a lot of fun there in the public baths and the bars, and met some great people at the hostel too.

were in bratislava for about 24 hours where it rained and was generally rubbish, and arrived in Vienna earlier today.

we're going to be doing something a little different over the coming days, so we'll fill you in

so steve got his head shaved, pete dyed his hair dark brown and mine has gone a lovely shade of ginger.

we got the bus down from sarajevo to dubrovnik (via mostar if youve heard of it) on thursday

the weather is absolutely great - 20ish degrees and bright sunshine all day

stayed with a guy who was just like barney (goodrich) up on the hill.

pete has been swimming in the sea, and we successfully drunk-drove a boat

now in split, P+S are showering before we hit the town.

we got in to sarajevo on monday evening, leaving early tomorrow morning to head to dubrovnik

there isn't a huge amount to do here, but its a nice enough place and the hostel is good

but pete had a lot of free rakia instead to make up for it, before we got some lovely blueberry beers. mmm.

we're in Bucharest now

staying at the Funky Chicken - not the finest hostel we've been to so far but it's okay

the city itself, there doesn't seem to be an awful lot to do. though it doesnt help that we failed to find the cool bar we were hoping to go to.

although saying that i actually really like the grandeur of it all - huge buildings, wide streets

we will be heading inside the palace of the people tomorrow (hopefully) before getting the night-train to Belgrade for a weekend of hardcore partying

we weren't sure if or for how long we'd be in veliko tarnovo, but by some kind of magic luck it just happens to be the city's carnival to celebrate its birthday today, and the weather outside is actually hot

Bulgaria: Land of the 50p Beer

Greetings UK bros

we're still in Sofia - we will be leaving tomorrow to head up to Veliko Tarnovo

it's been great here so far - great meals can be had for 5 quid, the beer is ludicrously cheap and the hostel is fun fun fun.

we've met some australian guys, swiss girls, german peeps - one of whom is genuinely called Beermann.

first night steve and pete went heavy, apparently out drinking till 6 with the crew

last night was equally heavy, a little too so for steve. but pete and i partied into the night at a club

pete is currently uploading a few pictures (interwebs here are too slow to do lots) so hopefully there'll be some good ones.

Bulgaria - Sofia

we arrived in the bulgarian capital sofia this morning

our exit from istanbul was in disgrace - pete spilled a cup of coffee all over some woman's bag and so we had to run away before she noticed.

the night train wasn't the greatest night's sleep we've ever had - woken up several times by a lovely bulgarian lady and many passport control officials, and Mr Drum didn't want to go to sleep. (for any tanzanians, think maccy's drum).

we are now at hostel mostel, which is awesome.

big plate of bulgarian food for lunch - i got the meat sweats about halfway in to my 12oz pork fillet and steve + pete struggled through even bigger chicken steaks.
then Mr Ham Sandwich made an appearance.

spent the afternoon mincing about as we do best, with pete photographing plenty of dogs

and now we're just chilling at the pool table with a few 50p bulgarian beers for steve and myself whilst pete is on the 3 pound tequila. heading out to a bar in a bit.

our turkish bath yesterday was glorious. i was a little bit worried when the masseur rolled my towel up to the buttocks, but thankfully his hands went no further. i do believe pete got a viewing of my wang mid-massage.

We have finally made it here after spendıng a day in the glorıous Thessaloniki.

We have seen some Mosques, trıed some Shisha and partied hard with the locals (pics soon)

Today we are planning to get rubbed by a turkish man and then watch (possibly a male) bellydancer do their thing.

today we were meant to get the train to Thessaloniki but because of a transport strike we've been stuck in athens for another day

it is/was sunny

anyway we're going to be skipping thessaloniki now, and just heading straight for istanbul.

hi guise we're in athens at the moment
at an internet cafe. it's full of nerds. not us though

today it was sunny and so we did all the historical stuff, ie. the acropolis, the olympic stadium and the temple of zeus.
i'm sure you are looking forward to the pics from those at some point possibly

anyway, after this we will be hitting a sketchy greek bar to have a few beers with some lovely locals.

The 8th of march has arrived.

Yet only one of us was sad enough to stay up and make this post. Who could it be?

In 9 hours we will be flapping our wings over to Athens and showing those Greeks how to riot over the economy!!!!

I personally look forward to some delicious greek monuments and historically magnificent food, let's hope we dont run into loperfish. He who hunts the night and day.

today we head to Spoons for the final time of this gap year.

we've spent an unhealthy amount of evenings there ... be it Sunday Spoons, midweek spoons, steak club...

so hopefully the gap year crew (inc. ruth, emilys moore and dean, and leo h) will make it out - and there are rumours that Dan might make it as well.

We're going just about everywhere, from Greece to Turkey to Bulgaria to Romania to Serbia to Bosnia to Croatia to Slovenia to Hungary to Slovakia to Austria to the Czech Republic to the Netherlands to Poland to Germany to Denmark to Norway to Sweden to Finland to France. and back to Germany for Rock am Ring!
